Hilltop Historical Society member Dick Hoffman and UNC-Wilmington History Professor Dr. Angela Zombek will share their insights on what led Columbus to have a Confederate cemetery and how it has been a part of Civil War memory through the years. Dr. Zombek will also be signing copies of her new book, 'Penitentiaries, Punishment, and Military Prisons: Familiar Responses to an Extraordinary Crisis during the American Civil War.' Special note: Attendees must bring their own lawn chair for seating. The event is free but registration is required.

The focus will be on social-emotional learning techniques and other practices that promote healthy behaviors and discourage high-risk behaviors in children, particularly in the context of Ohio’s largest public health challenge, the addiction crisis.

Instead, attendees don wireless headphones and turn them to various stations, then boogie on the dance floor amidst other revelers dancing to whatever’s in their headphones. Three DJs are competing for your attention during this bash, spinning your favorite Carnival & Trap hits. If you don’t like a song, simply switch your headphones from one station to the next to keep the party going. Party-goers can also turn down the volume of their headphones or take them off whenever they want to chat with other participants.
