Italy - "A Notebook for Winter" and "Events Horizon"
From the event description:
The translation of "Events Horizon" would not have been possible without the involvement and support of Premio Riccione. A Notebook for Winter is a two-actor-piece which is in three acts and tells the story of an introvert professor of literature who finds a burglar on his way back home. The knife-wielding burglar wants something unexpected from him: it is a question of life or death. During the entire night the two characters talk, exchange ideas, feelings, ask painful questions out of hope and desperation, in a completely new and unexpected atmosphere. They will meet again years later, both affected by that night. Although their personal memory of that night is different, it may have triggered a change in both of them, by offering a further comprehension and awareness of each other.
When: Tuesday, May 14, 6-9 p.m.
Where: Instituto Cervantes, 31 W. Ohio St.

"Drunk Shakespeare"

From the event description:
A self-proclaimed "drinking club with a Shakespeare problem," the merry members of the Drunk Shakespeare Society invite you to join a night of suds and sonnets, cocktails and couplets, booze and, well, you get the idea. As one member of this talented cast of lead-livered actors imbibes more than their fair share of liquid courage, an outrageous evening of theater ensues as they attempt to lead the rest of the cast through a Shakespeare story in just over one hour. Rest assured, the results will be sloppy, silly and occasionally iambic as the night devolves into inevitable debauchery.

"The Winter's Tale"

Star-crossed lovers, a banished child, a loyal servant, a notorious bear and more plot twists than "Downton Abbey" make up the Shakespearean magic of "The Winter's Tale." One of Shakespeare's later romances, this comedy-tragedy hybrid tells the story of Leontes, a jealous Sicilian king who suspects his pregnant queen has been unfaithful. He imprisons his wife and exiles their newborn daughter from his kingdom. By the time he discovers the truth, he's lost everything.

The show begins with the truth of the mall — a showcase for her collectables like dolls and antique clothing — and imagines what it might be like to be the custodian of such a place for such a celebrity.
