Notes from Sushi's caretakers:

Sushi was surrendered by her owners when they moved. She is a sweet 17-year-old female tuxedo. She lived with other cats but prefers being the only cat in the household. Although she also lived with two dogs, she really doesn't like them. Her owners described her as having a dominant personality. She's timid at first and will stare at you with her beautiful green eyes, but warms up readily. When she gets to know you she will talk some and she likes to rub on you as she walks by and then she flops down on her side. She enjoys attention from people. She likes being pet but does not like being picked up. She likes her string wand, toy mice and scratching posts. She's a very social girl once she's comfortable with you.

Rocket is a male domestic shorthair cat being cared for at Emerald City Pet Rescue.

Rocket arrived at Emerald City Pet Rescue when his owner was unable to care for him. This sweet kitty enjoys the company of humans and likes to take long catnaps. A good mix of laid back and silly, Rocket makes us all laugh with his goofy side as well — he likes to chew on brooms and will sometimes kick his leg like a dog when you pet him! Rocket coexists peacefully with other cats and dogs, and would prefer a quieter home with older children. Special considerations: Heart murmur; diabetic, so requires prescription m/d diet and twice daily insulin.

Masika is a sweet female domestic shorthair cat in the care of Emerald City Pet Rescue.

Masika has a prescription kidney diet; daily medications plus rechecks for arthritis, low potassium, cardiac disease and hyperthyroidism. This kitty is searching for her forever home in the Seattle area. Though much of Masika’s background remains a mystery, she surprises us every day with her resilient spirit and lovely personality. Masika greatly enjoys receiving pets and attention from our staff and volunteers. She likes to chat, and often follows her human caretakers around the cat room to see if she can help. Though we are unsure how Masika feels about dogs, she is not a fan of other cats and prefers a quiet home with older children (if any). Masika has captured our hearts, and we know she will capture yours, too!

Likes: Soft beds and wet food. Dislikes: Commotion. Special considerations: FeLV+; arthritis medication and prescription diet; prefers a home with no cats or children. Stormy came to us after her elderly owner was unable to care for her. This big kitty is shy at first and wants to take some time to get to know you. Once she trusts you, she will rub her face all over your hands, drool on you and make biscuits on her bed! Stormy is looking for a peaceful home with no other cats or children; she requests an adopter who will give her plenty of time and patience to come out of her shell.

Due to Sissy’s fragility that can come with age, she would do best in a home with no children. We are unsure how she does with other cats and dogs at this time. Special considerations: Prefers a home with no children; medications for arthritis; recheck echocardiograms every 9-12 months.

Sheetara is looking for a dog-free household. Sheetara would also prefer a home without small children. She's spayed and vaccinated.

Originally hailing from California, Sheetara is a very special kitty who is currently available as a permanent foster. This talkative and teensy lady is very active. She loves to play and will chase balls across the room and pounce on toys hidden in her Ripple Rug. Though she can be extremely loving, Sheetara’s behavior is very unpredictable, and she scratches with very little warning. Due to this, it is best that there be no children in her future home. Sheetara has a spinal abnormality that results in urinary incontinence (something that can happen in her breed), and so she needs a person who can provide her with time, patience, and, of course, love!
