Dogs in Columbus looking for their furr-ever homes

Stark is a male German shepherd dog being cared for at Stop the Suffering.

Stark is a social butterfly, and he'll get along great with other dogs. His vaccinations are already up to date, and he is neutered. Have no fear: he's already house-trained.

Notes from Stark's caretakers:

Stark is a purebred German Shepherd who is five years old and weighs about 80 lbs. Stark's family could no longer provide the life he deserves, so they reached out to the rescue. He has lived with other dogs and kids alike, so he will be comfortable with both.

Fuji is a darling female Akita mix currently housed at Stop the Suffering.

Fuji is ready to make friends, and she's happy to keep company with other dogs. She has been vaccinated and spayed. She is already house-trained.

Fuji's current caretakers say:

Fuji is around two to three years old and about 60lbs. She is good with other dogs and appears to have been well cared for prior to being picked up as a stray in rural Ohio. She is also great with kids but has not been cat tested.

Zoey is a female border collie mix being kept at Stop the Suffering.

She has mastered her house-training etiquette. Zoey is already spayed, and she has all her shots.

From Zoey's current caretaker:

Zoe has had a tough life. She spent most of it on a chain with her only shelter being a dog house. Despite her rough start, she is loving, sweet and great with adults and the few older children she has been around. She has not been around small children. Zoe lives with several dogs and cats. Most of the time she is okay with them but can sometimes show dislike and some aggression. We are recommending Zoe be the only pet in the home. Zoe will not disappoint you. Besides being incredible beautiful, she is loyal and wants to please.

Holly is a darling female collie and German shepherd mix being cared for at Stop the Suffering.

Holly loves other dogs and cats. Stop the Suffering, however, thinks she will do best in a home without small children. She has been vaccinated. She has mastered her house-training etiquette.

Holly's current caretakers say:

Holly is a sweet one year old and is around 45 lbs. She loves to hang out on the couch and cuddle. Holly is uneasy around strangers and small children, so we are requiring a quiet home with children only ages 10 and over. She is crate-trained but will sometimes cry for a bit in her crate. She is somewhat afraid of leash walking and scared of new environments and will require a physically fenced yard.

Timothy is a lovable male American bulldog and pit bull terrier mix currently housed at Stop the Suffering.

Timothy loves other dogs. He has mastered his house-training etiquette. He's already vaccinated and neutered.

From Timothy's current caretaker:

Timothy is one year old and around 63 lbs. He knows how to sit, walk nicely on a leash, play fetch and sleep in his crate each night. He'd make a great exercise partner but also enjoys just being cuddled. He also loves car adventures.  

Herbie is a charming male Labrador retriever dog currently housed at Stop the Suffering.

Herbie is a social animal — he's happy to keep company with other dogs. He has been vaccinated and neutered. He has mastered his house-training etiquette.

Here's what Herbie's friends at Stop the Suffering think of him:

Herbie is a sweet nine year old lab who weighs about 86 lbs. Sadly, Herbie's owner became ill and could no longer care for him. He's adjusting well to life in foster care and is having a blast playing with the other pups in his temporary home, balanced by multiple naps, of course. Herbie has not had much experience around kids and isn't aware of his own size, so he's probably better suited for a home without children.
