A new Italian spot, offering beer, wine and spirits and more, has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 3852 Farnam St., Suite 1, the newcomer is called Forno.
This new restaurant specializes in wood-fired pizzas. Chef Nick Strawhecker is behind the concept for Forno, according to its Facebook page. On the menu, you'll find a selection of pies to choose from, including the Margherita, the Emilia and a vegan marinara option. In addition to pizza, they offer an assortment of snacks, meats, pasta, flatbreads and veggies. The menu also features wine, aperitfs, cocktails and beer.
Forno has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of fourreviews on Yelp.
Jossy R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 27, wrote, "We had an incredible experience here yesterday. The service was thoughtful and attentive. Our very favorites were Papa's Sunday Gravy—a decadent pork and beef shank with red sauce pasta—and the dessert experience. There is an extensive list of Amari digestifs that were fun to try after dinner. The gelato panino dessert was fantastic—a brioche roll with a light layer of gelato and delicious salted butterscotch and caramel sauce."
And Katherine F. wrote, "Came here for a second time in one week and loved it just as much as I did the first time! We started with the Marcona almonds and the olives. ... Meat eaters ordered half an omnivore tigelle platter. They devoured it. We had three pizzas, which were excellent, and two kale salads."
Head on over to check it out: Forno is open from 4:30–9 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday and Sunday, and 4:30–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Monday.)
