The Castro's newest restaurant, Blind Butcher, is now open at 4058 18th St. (at Hartford St.)
The space was formerly home to Spanish restaurant Beso, which closed back in March. It's now being operated by Coskun Abik, who also owns Lark, right next door.
Abik also owns two businesses in Polk Gulch: Mediterranean bistro and wine bar Dunya (1609 Polk St.) and neighboring cafe Moka Coffee (1605 Polk St.)

After a quick two-month renovation, Abik says he's excited to open his new restaurant in the Castro and have customers enjoy his food.
When he first announced Blind Butcher back in March, Abik said he was aiming to address the neighborhood's lack of a steak place. As promised, he's offering three to four cuts of beef nightly. Current offerings include braised short ribs ($32), filet mignon ($36) and a cowboy ribeye steak ($38). There's also a half-pound burger made with Wagyu beef ($18).

For those looking for an alternative to beef, Blind Butcher also offers a rack of lamb ($38), grilled branzino ($32), country buttermilk crispy chicken ($25) and a vegan "green medley" ($22).
Appetizers include shishito peppers ($7), marinated olives ($7), crispy buttermilk oysters ($13) and truffle lobster mac and cheese ($15).
Salads, cheese and charcuterie boards, and sides like roasted potatoes and brussels sprouts are also available. To drink, Blind Butcher offers a variety of wines and craft beers.

Abik plans to add a weekend brunch menu in the coming months, once the staff gets up to speed. For now, Blind Butcher is open for dinner Sunday-Thursday from 5-10 p.m., and Friday-Saturday from 5-11 p.m.
