A new spot to score kebabs and more has debuted in the neighborhood. Called Usta Kababgy, the new addition is located at 9717 N. Lamar Blvd., Unit C2, in North Lamar.

On the menu, expect salads and appetizers, Turkish flatbreads, wraps and entrees. For lunch, consider the Adana or chicken kebab wraps or the Zaatar & Cheese flatbread (half thyme and half feta cheese mixed with olive oil). Dinner options include the Iraqi kebab and chicken kebab dishes and the kofth plate (grilled halal ground beef, potatoes and tomatoes dipped in special tomato sauce and served with rice and bread).

With a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, the new addition is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Saadh A., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 3, wrote, "I ordered Adana Kebab and my friend got the chicken kebab. Then the manager gave us complimentary lentil soup, which was delicious and may be the best lentil soup I've had. Each kebab plate had four skewers of meat, which was great. The kebabs were very flavorful and juicy. Some of the best Mediterranean/Turkish food I've ever had in the Austin area."

Yelper Murat K. added, “Good food, fast service. You can find traditional Turkish food in this restaurant.”

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Usta Kababgy is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
