A new bakery has debuted in the neighborhood. Located at 2407 E. Union St., Suite C in Central District, the new arrival is called Lowrider Baking Company.

This new shop specializes in homemade cookies. The menu features cookie flavors like birthday cake, brown butter triple chocolate chunk, s'mores, lemon cranberry and more.

Owner Emily Allport first began selling cookies at local farmer's markets and pop-ups two years ago, which has since turned into two brick-and-mortar storefronts in Seattle, according to the bakery's website. Lowrider Baking Company was named Readers' Choice Bakery of the Year by Eater Seattle in 2018.

The new bakery has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.

Katrina M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 18, wrote, "Hands down, they are the best cookies you'll ever have (and I'm not even a sweets type of person)! What makes them different? Extremely moist, slightly chewy and oh so indulgent!"

Yelper Camille W. added, “Conveniently placed near my apartment, this cute cookie shop is perfect for my occasional sweet tooth. The shop has options ranging from a fruity cookie to a ridiculous chocolatey one. The other flavors were strawberries and cream and a lemon cookie."

Head on over to check it out: Lowrider Baking Company is open from 11 a.m.–8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m.–7 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday and Tuesday.)
