Austin-based semiconductor company Mythic has secured $30 million in Series B funding, according to company database Crunchbase, topping the city’s recent funding headlines. The cash infusion was announced June 12 and led by Valor Equity Partners.

According to its Crunchbase profile, "Formerly Know as Isocline. Mythic pushes local AI beyond today’s edge so that every device people rely on can become a trusted and intelligent personal assistant. Mythic envisions a world where every device is intelligent, learning through interacting with users, as well as spoken command."

The seven-year-old company has raised five previous funding rounds, including a $40 million Series B round in 2018.

The round brings total funding raised by Austin companies in artificial intelligence over the past month to $38 million, and increase of $32 million from the month before. The local artificial intelligence industry has seen 33 funding rounds over the past year, securing a total of $285 million in venture funding.

In other local funding news, physical security company Athena Security announced a $5.5 million seed funding round on June 13, financed by Pathfinder.

According to Crunchbase, "Athena’s mission is to prevent crime through artificial intelligence. The smart security camera and alarm system uses human-computer vision to see and understand threats. When a mugger pulls out a knife, when a kidnapper tries to force a child into a car, when a gunman tries to take a life, Athena can see the threat before it becomes a crime."

The company also raised a $100,000 seed round in 2018.
