Curious where San Francisco's in-the-know crowd is eating and drinking? It's easy to spot lines out the door, but some underlying trends are harder to see.

We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to discover which eateries have been getting extra notice this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at San Francisco businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Read on to see which spots are getting plenty of attention this summer.

Open since June, this bagel spot is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "Breakfast & Brunch" on Yelp.

Citywide, breakfast and brunch spots saw a median 1.5% increase in new reviews over the past month, but Daily Driver saw an 89.6% increase, maintaining a mixed 3.5-star rating throughout.

It's not the only trending outlier in the breakfast and brunch category: ONE65 Patisserie & Boutique has seen a 42.5% increase in reviews.

Located at 2535 Third St. (between 22nd and 23rd streets) in the Dogpatch, Daily Driver specializes in wood-fired organic bagels, a rarity in San Francisco. Yelpers have raved about the fresh bagels, with reviewer Beverly L. proclaiming: "Finally, a decent bagel in SF!"

Offered in flavors ranging from salt to sesame to onion, Daily Driver's bagels can be spread with house-cultured cream cheese or butter. Customers can also enjoy them in sandwich form, topped with scrambled eggs, pastrami or lox. To drink, there's Red Bay Coffee and local beer on draft.

Wood-fired pizza is the focus, with pies like the Salciccia (sausage, ricotta, garlic, salsa verde) and the clam pie with oregano, parsley and garlic. There are also appetizers like meatballs and wood-fired octopus, and pastas like spaghetti cacio e pepe or bucatini pomodoro. On the weekend, pop in for brunch creations like fried polenta with poached egg or a seasonal frittata.
