Spending time in North Buckhead? Get to know this Atlanta neighborhood by browsing its most popular local businesses, from a ramen bar to a doughnut shop.
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top places to visit in North Buckhead, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of neighborhood businesses. Read on for the results.
1. Jinya Ramen Bar
Topping the list is Jinya Ramen Bar, a spot to score ramen and noodles. Located at 3714 Roswell Road, unit 35, it's the highest-rated business in the neighborhood, boasting 4.5 stars out of 644 reviews on Yelp.
The eatery is an Atlanta outpost of a fast-growing national chain. It says on its website that it considers "the relationship between broth and noodles ... serious but delicious business." It offers more than a dozen varieties of ramen, from cold to spicy hot; Japanese snacks like gyozas, octopus balls and salmon sashimi; rice bowls; mini tacos, including spicy tuna and pork chashu; and desserts.
Next up is Mexican spot Bartaco, situated at 3802 Roswell Road, Suite E. With four stars out of 559 reviews on Yelp, it's proven to be a local favorite.
Zagat named Bartaco one of "the 10 hottest Mexican restaurants in Atlanta." It offers a la carte tacos, from seared swordfish to roasted duck, and rice bowls with many of the same fillings; chicken empanadas; duck quesadillas; grilled corn; brown rice; and more. There are also cocktails, including a house specialty margarita.
Beer bar, Tex-Mex and Mexican spot Superica is another top choice. Yelpers give the business, located at 3850 Roswell Road NE, four stars out of 409 reviews.
Superica is part of Ford Fry's Atlanta restaurant empire, and according to Texas Monthly, it pays tribute the Tex-Mex restaurants he experienced while growing up in Houston. It offers upscale takes on familiar dishes like fajitas, enchiladas, tacos and chiles rellenos, along with selections like mesquite-grilled quail and whole, fried Gulf red snapper.
4. The Greater Good BBQ
The Greater Good BBQ, a barbecue spot, is another neighborhood go-to, with four stars out of 314 Yelp reviews. Head over to 4441 Roswell Road to see for yourself.
In addition to the buzzed-about baby back ribs, the menu also includes smoked chicken and wings, pulled pork, brisket and sausage. Brisket chili is also on offer.
5. Bon Glaze
Check out Bon Glaze, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 83 reviews on Yelp. You can find the coffee, tea and shaved ice spot, which offers doughnuts and more, at 3794 Roswell Road.
Atlbucketlist.com included Bon Glaze among more venerable competitors as one of the places to find the best doughnuts in Atlanta. Its unusual doughnut flavors include salted caramel balsamic, Meyer lemon, blueberry sour cream and "Nanner," a peanut butter-and-banana glaze combo. This spot also serves breakfast, featuring waffles, thick-cut bacon and breakfast sandwiches. And to cool down on Atlanta's summer days, there's shaved ice, as we mentioned.
