Global Social Hour: International Wildlife Conservation

Co-hosted by the San Diego Humane Society Project Wildlife, this session will focus on wildlife conservation at home and abroad. The San Diego Diplomacy Council (SDDC) will welcome 11 international experts who are visiting San Diego on the topic of wildlife trafficking. The event will be an opportunity to engage in conversations with international and local conservationists as well as appearances by Project Wildlife animal ambassadors. The event will also feature pictures from Khan Fatim Hasan, who is a tiger photographer in Bangladesh.

Celebrity Chef Series — Beau MacMillan and Brian Malarkey

Herb & Wood is excited to announce that the next guest in its Celebrity Chef Series will be renowned chef Beau MacMillan. The native New Englander, who is the executive chef for Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort, is known best for defeating Bobby Flay on "Iron Chef America" and serving as a coach on season one of "Worst Cooks in America." MacMillan, already a fan of Herb & Wood (he recently chose the restaurant's oxtail gnocchi as his selected dish for Cooking Channel’s "Best Thing I Ever Ate"), has also worked alongside chef Brian Malarkey as a judge for "Guys Grocery Games." A portion of the proceeds from the five-course dinner will benefit MacMillan's charity of choice, C-CAP (Careers Through Culinary Arts Program), which prepares underserved youth for careers in the culinary and hospitality field.
