Craving fresh bread and baked goods? New bakery Union Special has you covered. The business is located in East Raleigh at 2409 Crabtree Blvd., Suite #102, and is owned by local residents Andrew and Jess Ullom.

Andrew Ullom was the longtime executive pastry chef of Christensen's AC Restaurants, according to The News & Observer.

The new addition specializes in breads made with roller-milled and stone-ground flours and is baking up chocolate croissants, pastries and cookies.

The bakery has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.

Maura V., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Aug. 10, wrote, "The butter croissant is their signature for a reason, ultra buttery and very flaky. The Videri chocolate was stuffed with the namesake's delicious dark chocolate, which I appreciated very much."

And MK K. wrote, "I had the brunch salad, and it was one of the best meals of my life! The slingshot cold brew on tap was also a great treat."

Union Special is now open, so swing on by to take a peek.
