A New American eatery has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located in the Equinox Hotel at 33 Hudson Yards, the fresh addition is called Electric Lemon.
Electric Lemon is the main restaurant and bar of the new fitness-focused Equinox Hotel, the first hotel from luxury health club brand Equinox. Equinox tapped James Beard award-winning restaurateur Stephen Starr to direct the hotel's food and beverage program, and Electric Lemon is the result. Located on the hotel's 24th floor, the spot features a contemporary dining room with tall ceilings, a 8,000-square-foot outdoor terrace with views of Manhattan, and a private space that can be booked for parties and special events.
Electric Lemon serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Like the rest of the hotel, the restaurant is a health-focused establishment, and its menu features seasonal ingredients. Its breakfast offerings include "high-performance" bowls with yogurt, chia, oat milk and sweet potato; an egg white omelet; heirloom tomato toast; and locally produced turkey sausage.
For lunch and dinner, Electric Lemon serves an array of raw "crudo," from fluke or beef tartare to deviled crab and chilled oysters. Other appetizers include salads, duck dumplings, grilled quail and chickpea pasta. Among the entrees, check out the grilled and braised lamb with sumac yogurt; the Montauk day boat scallops; the grass-fed burger; and the carrot banh mi. Electric Lemon also has a full list of wine, beer and cocktails.
With a 4.5-star rating out of 13 reviews on Yelp so far, Electric Lemon is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Victoria J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Aug. 14, wrote, "Service was impeccable. We felt welcome, and our server was eager to recommend and explain his favorite dishes."
Yelper Eleanor L. added, “Highly creative menu using fresh seasonal ingredients. ... You will leave very impressed and want to return to try other menu items."
Head on over to check it out: Electric Lemon is open from 6 a.m.–11 p.m. on Monday-Wednesday, 6 a.m.–midnight on Thursday-Saturday and 6 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday.
