A new pan Asian spot, offering hot pot and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called 111 East, the fresh arrival is located at 11 Fan Pier Blvd. in South Boston.
111 East serves up pan Asian dishes, as well as sake, cocktails and beer. Menu items range from pan-fried vegetable gyoza to chili crab to pineapple pork belly. On the hot pot menu, select broth, noodles and other additions to create your own noodle bowl.
The fresh addition has received a mixed response from patrons, with a 3.5-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp.
Jason K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 6, wrote, "For what it's worth, this restaurant is definitely more of a fusion restaurant than a purely Asian cuisine restaurant so I wouldn't come here if I was looking for the whole hotpot experience. Good start for the new restaurant, I think that the addition of more menu items for food and drinks would be a step in the right direction."
And Eric W. wrote, "I ordered two to go noodle bowls: one is great, the other needs some work. The udon bowl is about half the size of the curry noodle bowl. The curry bowl, though, had a lot of pluses. Their chicken was nice and tender, and they gave quite a generous amount. The sauce was also well balanced with the components."
Head on over to check it out: 111 East is open from 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
