Daesha Ramachandran: Stepping off the Glass Cliff, Stepping into Our Power

From the event description:

In 2004 researchers from the University of Exeter identified an unusual pattern of bias in corporate hiring — when women are hired into executive leadership positions they are often hired during times of crisis. They called this phenomena the glass cliff, referring to the high stakes and high probability of failure women tend to inherit in these scenarios. We’ll talk about key features of glass cliff moments as well as the structural and systemic biases that create and perpetuate them. And we’ll talk about what people of color and women are doing to step off the glass cliff and into their power and what companies can do to design workplaces where everyone thrives.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 11, 12-1 p.m.
