A new Peruvian spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Located at 1400 Second Ave. on the Upper East Side, the new arrival is called Mission Ceviche.

This is the first full-service restaurant from Mission Ceviche, which began as a fast-casual stand in Gansevoort Market.

As the name suggests, Mission Ceviche specializes in ceviche and other Peruvian-style seafood dishes. The ceviche bar at the new Upper East Side restaurant offers seven different styles of ceviche, from a classic catch-of-the-day variety with corn and sweet potato to a version made with shiitake mushrooms and artichoke puree.

The new addition has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 62 reviews on Yelp.

Paul N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 9, wrote, "This is the freshest, bright-tasting, completely on-trend ceviche and Peruvian cuisine."

Yelper Susan L. added, “The food is amazing! The atmosphere is very welcoming."

Head on over to check it out: Mission Ceviche is open for lunch from noon-4 p.m. on weekdays and for dinner from 5-10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and 6-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. On weekends, its open for brunch from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
