New York funding news: Design, engineering and mobile top recent local investments

New York-based content creators and retail technology company Stylitics has secured $15 million in Series B funding, according to company database Crunchbase, topping the city’s recent funding headlines. The cash infusion was announced Aug. 26.

The 8-year-old company has raised six previous funding rounds, including a $100,000 debt financing round in 2017.

The round brings total funding raised by New York companies in design over the past month to $1.4 billion, an increase of $1.3 billion from the month before. The local design industry has produced 104 funding rounds over the past year, raking in a total of $2.4 billion in venture funding.

In other local funding news, developer platform and robotics company Ready announced a $5 million Series A funding round on Aug. 27, led by BITKRAFT Esports Ventures.

According to Crunchbase, "Ready opens games creation to the world, with over one million makers and players. The Ready Games app delivers three brand-new mobile mini games every week that anyone can play to win cash prizes."

The company also raised a $475,000 seed round in 2016.

Meanwhile, location based services company PlaceIQ raised corporate round funding, announced on Aug. 27. The round was financed by Experian.
