The Motor City Singers' Space: Soul Train (Subscribers' Choice)

From the event description:

The Motor City Singers' Space is a themed-musical event series that is designed to remove the stigma from the discussion of mental health and suicide prevention through the arts and African American communities of Southeastern Michigan. Our themed events run somewhat in the style of a musical variety showcase (think somewhere in between The Carol Burnett Show and Russel Simmons Presents Def Poetry). Singers sign up in advance to perform songs within the theme and interwoven throughout each show are trivia segments, singing challenges and dance battles. The purpose is building camaraderie, invigorating creativity and helping our audiences grow more comfortable in taking inventory of their own mental health. This event is family-friendly and open to guests of all ages.

When: Thursday, Oct. 24, 7-11 p.m.
Where: Jam Handy, 2900 E. Grand Blvd.
