Hungry? A new neighborhood Vietnamese spot has you covered. The new addition to the Upper West Side, called Pho Shop, is located at 141 W. 72nd St.
Pho Shop, which has another location on the other side of the park, specializes in Vietnamese soups and sandwiches and offers nearly a dozen varieties of pho and eight kinds of banh mi. Stop in for bowls of pho curry noodle soup or spicy pho with beef short ribs. Or check out the banh mi with your choice of classic, specialty and vegetarian fillings. Pho Shop also serves other authentic Vietnamese favorites, like spring rolls, bun noodle bowls and Vietnamese iced coffee. Menu items are available for takeout and delivery.
With a 4.5-star rating out of 19 reviews on Yelp so far, the new addition is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Carlin Y., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 22, wrote, "This is the first decent Viet restaurant to open on the Upper West Side. I've tried the house pho, curry pho, beef eye round pho, chicken pho gai, bun bo hue, shrimp and crispy spring rolls. They're all decent, but of them all I really liked the bun bo hue, chicken pho gai, and the shrimp spring rolls."
Yelper Agapito G. added, "Pho Shop gets it right. The food is phenomenal. The service is friendly and efficient. Delivery is quick."
Interested? Pho Shop is open from 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.
