Want the inside word on New York City's most talked-about local spots?

We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to deduce which local businesses have been getting a noteworthy uptick in attention this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at New York City businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Read on to see which spots are riding a trend, right now.

Open since September, this pizza spot is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "Pizza" on Yelp.

Moreover, on a month-to-month basis, F & F Pizzeria's review count increased by more than 400%.

Located at 459 Court St. (between Fourth Place and Luquer Street) in Carroll Gardens, F & F Pizzeria is the latest venture from Frankies Spuntino Group, the team behind Frankies 457 Spuntino and Franks Wine Bar. In fact, the pizzeria is nestled between those two storefronts. F & F Pizzeria serves up traditional New York–style slices and whole pizzas, including a cheese-less tomato pie.
