Want the scoop on Phoenix's buzziest local spots?

We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to deduce which eateries have been seeing especially high review volumes this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at Phoenix businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Read on to see which spots are getting plenty of attention, right now.

The Farish House

Open since March, this wine bar and New American spot, which offers tapas and more, is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "American (New)" on Yelp.

Citywide, New American spots saw a median 1.1% increase in new reviews over the past month, but The Farish House saw an 18.9% increase, maintaining a sound 4.5-star rating throughout.

It's not the only trending outlier in the New American category: SanTan Brewing Company has seen a 9.3% increase in reviews, and Taphouse Kitchen has seen a 6.5% bump.

Located at 816 N. Third St. in Central City, The Farish House offers pomodoro soup with hand-crushed tomato and caramalized onions, basil oil, pecorino and crusty bread, or the bitter and blue salad, which comes with arugula, radicchio, endive and fennel, gorgonzola and pecans with orange marmalade vinaigrette. Then, for an entree, consider the cherry lavender duck, a duck leg confit atop French lentils with gamay-cherry lavender sauce, or the eggplant stack, which includes layers of roasted eggplant, zucchini and squash, artichoke-bean puree and tomato sauce, topped with chevre. The Farish House is open from 4–10 p.m. on Tuesday-Saturday and 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
