One elementary school serving Fairmount-South and nearby neighborhoods has something to brag about: A math proficiency rating that places it No. 19 among the 148 elementary and community schools in the Philadelphia City School District. That’s according to recently released data for this school year from Niche.com.
We used the data to rank the public elementary schools in the district according to the percentage of their students who scored proficient or above in math on state exams. At Bache-Martin Elementary, that was 26% — well above the average for elementaries of 16%.
