A new joint to score barbecue has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called BBQ on the Brazos, the fresh arrival can be found at 3803 Southwest Blvd. in Bomber Heights.
BBQ on the Brazos specializes in traditional barbecue fare, with menu options ranging from a smoked turkey sandwich, stuffed baked potato and brisket tacos to assorted smoked meats by the pound and a variety of classic sides, like macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, green beans and potato salad.
With a four-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer is off to a promising start.
Jennifer W., who was among the first Yelpers to review BBQ on the Brazos on Oct. 23, wrote, "Their brisket is what my dreams are made of. The first little taste melted in my mouth, exactly as perfect brisket should. Nothing about it will disappoint."
Yelper Chandra L. added, “The brisket and ribs alone are worth the drive. ... The ribs were perfect! They didn't fall off the bone (but really close), but had a great chew, and the seasoning was spot on."
Head on over to check it out: BBQ on the Brazos is open from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. on Tuesday-Saturday and from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
