A new breakfast and brunch spot, offering coffee and tea and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Eggcellent Cafe, the new arrival is located at 113 Chestnut St. in Old City.

Named one of the "hottest new brunches in Philly," Eggcellent Cafe provides a breakfast and brunch fare. The menu features chorizo breakfast tacos, buttermilk hotcakes and Belgian waffles. For lunch, look for chicken quinoa bowls and veggie burgers.

Eggcellent Cafe has made a good impression thus far, with a 3.5-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp.

Hansel T., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Oct. 28, wrote, "My French toast came out perfectly seasoned with the right amount of cinnamon sprinkles, powder sugar and fresh-cut berries on top. The portions were perfect. My guests had the Sammie Sunrise, which was perfectly topped with bacon, hash brown, organic egg and challah bread. The portion on her sandwich was generous and flavorful."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Eggcellent Cafe is open from 7 a.m.–6 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m.–6 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
