We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to uncover which eateries have been on the tips of diners' tongues this month.
To find out who made the list, we looked at Portland businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Sisters Gourmet Deli
Open since September 2019, this deli, which offers sandwiches, salads and more, is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "Sandwiches" on Yelp.
Citywide, sandwich spots saw a median 1.9% increase in new reviews over the past month, but Sisters Gourmet Deli saw a considerable 116.7% increase, maintaining a convincing 4.5-star rating throughout.

G-Love
Whether or not you've been hearing buzz about Northwest's G-Love, the New American spot is a hot topic according to Yelp review data.
While businesses categorized as "American (New)" on Yelp saw a median 1.3% increase in new reviews over the past month, G-Love bagged a 48.1% increase in new reviews within that time frame, maintaining a superior 4.5-star rating.
Open at 1615 N.W. 21st Ave. since August 2019, G-Love offers drinks, steak, salmon and more.

Moreover, on a month-to-month basis, Culture's review count increased by more than 160%.
Culture offers table-side shawarma, brunches and happy hours. Over the past month, it's maintained a convincing 4.5-star rating among Yelpers.
