A new cafe has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called El Barrista Cafe, the fresh arrival is located at 2154 Third Ave. in East Harlem.
El Barrista Cafe serves up a full menu of hot and iced coffee and tea drinks, as well as frappes and fresh-squeezed juices. To eat, the cafe offers pastries, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, soups, salads, quiches and more. The space — which is decked out with bookshelves, paintings and vintage-looking light fixtures — is available for private events (see the business' website for more information).
With a 3.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp, the new cafe is finding its way, but it's still early days.
Inga S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Oct. 4, wrote, "Really nice coffee place in Harlem. I tried matcha latte and it was very good. They offer sandwiches and pastries which I will try next time."
Meanwhile, Patty L. noted, "Very disappointed. The latte was very watery, and the doughnut was stale."
Head on over to check it out: El Barrista Cafe is open from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m.–6 p.m. on weekends.
