New Japanese spot Chick-N-Teriyaki debuts in MidtownPhoto: Chick-N-Teriyaki/Yelp

Looking to chow down on some Japanese fare? A new spot has you covered. Called Chick-N-Teriyaki, the fresh addition is located at 160 E. 44th St. in Midtown.

This is Chick-N-Teriyaki's first brick-and-mortar location, after operating for two years as a delivery-only "virtual" restaurant out of Harlem's Cantina Taqueria & Tequila Bar. This casual takeout counter serves up to-go teriyaki bowls featuring chicken, steak, shrimp and veggies, and its classic grilled chicken teriyaki bowl is available as an "everyday special" for only $5.95. Other menu items include a fried chicken katsu sandwich, chicken wings, dumplings and homemade cookies.

With a four-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp so far, Chick-N-Teriyaki is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Yohei D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 23, wrote, "Great place to get takeout. They have $5 special for chicken teriyaki bowl. It has a generous portion of chicken meat, veggies and rice. The teriyaki sauce has a rich flavor that isn't salty."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Chick-N-Teriyaki is open from 11:30 a.m.–9 p.m. on weekdays. (It's closed on weekends.)
