There's a brand-new steakhouse in town. Called Rare Society, it's at 4130 Park Blvd. in University Heights.
According to its Facebook page, "Rare Society offers timeless steakhouse fare, classic cocktails, killer wine and stellar service in a sexy, throwback space. The new steakhouse is part of The Trust Restaurant Group, well known for its flagship restaurants Trust and Fort Oak."
The menu features appetizers like steamed clams, roasted bone marrow and crab cake, alongside a variety of steaks and sides, served family-style. When it comes to dessert, look for cheesecake, butter pecan ice cream and butter cake.
Rare Society has gotten a welcoming response thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 18 reviews on Yelp.
Lisa M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Nov. 13, wrote, "Make no mistake, you need to eat meat here. We ordered the shareable 'associate' and had three steaks to share. The Australian tri-tip was perfectly charred on the outside and a true med-rare on the inside. The Australian Wagyu and filet round out this meat feast. Try this with the truffle creamed spinach. I don't think I've ever said those three words in a sentence before. Rare!"
Yelper C D. added, “Came in with pretty high expectations after having eaten at Trust several times. The staff and food didn't disappoint.”
Rare Society is open 5-10 p.m. daily, except for Tuesdays, when it's closed.
