Here are some notable crime reports from SFPD's Central District since our last biweekly recap. The district encompasses Chinatown; the Financial District; the Embarcadero; Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills; North Beach and Union Square. All information comes from official SFPD reports, unless otherwise noted.

Woman knocked to ground during phone robbery, suspect arrested

On December 8, a 15-year-old boy grabbed a phone from the hands of a 30-year-old woman and knocked her to the ground. The incident occurred at 2:26 p.m. at Ellis and Powell streets. The suspect was located and arrested, and the phone was recovered.

Car break-in victim tries to get belongings back, gets punched in the face

On December 6, a 56-year-old woman was punched in the face while trying to retrieve stolen items from a man of unknown age that were taken during a car break-in. The incident took place on the 100 block of O'Farrell Street (at Stockton) at 6:49 a.m. The suspect fled the scene on a bike. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the encounter. No arrest has been made.

Luggage taken from man in broad daylight

On December 5 at 9:30 a.m., a 26-year-old man was walking on California Street (at Jones) when two 28-year-old men approached him and grabbed his luggage. One of the two men pushed the victim to the ground as the other took off with the luggage containing cash, clothing and adult toys. No arrest was made.

Two men arrested in phone, laptop robbery

On December 2, police officers assigned to Central Station responded to the area of Green and Mason streets around 7 p.m. regarding a person screaming for help. The officers located a 63-year-old woman who had been grabbed by two suspect, dragged along the ground, and robbed. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the suspects fled on foot.

Other officers from the same police station responded to the area and located two subjects at Mason and Filbert streets matching the suspect descriptions. Property belonging to the victim including a phone, tote bag and laptop were recovered from the scene.

Oakland resident Kevin Andrew Perry, age 18, was booked into San Francisco County Jail on charges of robbery and conspiracy.  A 17-year-old male San Francisco resident was admitted to the San Francisco Juvenile Justice Center on the same charges.
