A festive pop-up bar called Miracle on Mercer has landed at 292 Barrow St. for the holidays.
Miracle got its start in New York City in 2014, and since then, its network of pop-up bars has expanded around the globe. Indeed, Miracle is running more than 100 holiday pop-ups this season, in sites across the U.S. and Canada, as well as in Switzerland, Romania, Mexico and elsewhere.
While putting the finishing touches on its grand opening, restaurant Franklin Social has offered its storefront to the Jersey City version, Miracle on Mercer, which decked the space out with throwback holiday kitsch (Franklin Social plans to open in January 2020, according to Jersey Digs).
The pop-up bar serves seasonally appropriate cocktails, like the Christmapolitan (made with spiced cranberry sauce), the Gingerbread Flip (with rye, gingerbread syrup and cookie crumbs) and the Bad Santa (rum, chai and date-infused oat milk, served hot). There's also a selection of bar food and small plates, and Miracle's glassware is available to purchase and take home, with 10% of sales going to Action Against Hunger.
With a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, the pop-up has been warmly received by patrons.
Gia H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 16, wrote, "This place was amazing. Nothing short of true Christmas spirit."
Yelper Sara B. noted, "Overall, this was a really great experience, and I'd urge anyone to stop by for a festive drink while the holiday season is in full force."
Interested? Miracle on Mercer is open through the end of December, from 4 p.m.–2 a.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m.–2 a.m. on weekends. Reservations are encouraged. See its website for more information.
