This is the 15th outpost of the local, family-owned chain, which has been expanding its fast-casual Sichuan concept across New York City since debuting in Flushing in 2005.
Xi'an Famous Foods specializes in the hand-ripped biangbiang noodles popular in the Chinese city of Xi'an, and it serves more than a dozen noodle dishes, including soups and noodle bowls topped with spicy cumin lamb, sautéed pork belly, stewed oxtail, veggies and more. Among Xi'an Famous Foods' other offerings are dumplings, spicy cucumber salad and a cumin lamb burger served on a crispy flatbread bun.
The new locale has made a good impression thus far, with a four-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp.
Sheena P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Nov. 3, wrote, “The stir-fried noodles were delicious and indeed very spicy, but this is definitely part of the experience."
Yelper Frances P. added, "I am happy and scared that this place is so near to my place. I will have to actively avoid eating it every day, because it was that good!"
