A new bar and Indian spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. The fresh addition to Capitol Hill, called Zaika, is located at 1100 Pike St.
Zaika serves up modern dishes influenced by traditional Indian flavors. On the menu, you'll find pumpkin soup, sesame cheese toast, rosemary lamb chops, apricot chicken kebab, garlic naan, cocktails and more.
The new arrival has gotten good reviews thus far, with a 3.5-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Tika B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 13, wrote, "The food was excellent. One of my friends ordered the Mumbai Mule, Zaika's version of a Moscow Mule but with mango and habanero, and it was very flavorful and delicious."
Yelper Ajay K. added, “The butter chicken was cooked perfectly and I was craving for more. The two starters we got, sesame toast and prawn sambal, were both excellent. The portion sizes were good and not like the skimpy versions I am used to at other 'fusion' restaurants."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Zaika is open from 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.–10 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (It's closed on Tuesday.)
