A new spot to score pizza and gelato has opened for business in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to Washington Square, called Alice Pizza, is located at 1234 Market St.
Alice Pizza specializes in slow-rise pizza sold by weight and in a variety of flavors, according to its website. This spot, which boasts a flagship store at 15th and Locust streets, offers classic pies topped with tomato, eggplant, cheese and basil or specialty pies like its potato, mozzarella, spicy oil and chives.
With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Alice Pizza is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Leah L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 14, wrote, "Best of all, they now have veggie options. The bread was very light. The cheese was tasty and fresh. Overall, lunch was under $5."
Yelper Lilli M. added, “The pizza is by weight, so you can sample as much or as little as you'd like without committing an entire pizza. One of my favorite flavors from the other location is the pesto pie with arugula and cheese. They have gelato available. It's not cheap, but it's tasty. The space is also clean and brightly lit."
Alice Pizza is now open at 1234 Market St., so head on over to check it out.
