A new Sichuan and Shanghainese spot has made its debut in Flushing. Called JiangNan, the fresh arrival is located in dining and entertainment complex One Fulton Square at 133-42 39th Ave., Suite 101.

JiangNan offers a full menu of traditional Sichuan fare, as well as fusion-inspired dishes that draw on the flavors of Sichuan and Shanghainese cuisine. Stop in for Shanghai-style braised pork belly, kung pao chicken, mapo tofu, Sichuanese peppercorn whole fish, stir-fried noodles and more. Or check out one of the chef's specials, like the Peking duck, fish head with scallions, cumin lamb or stir-fried bullfrog. The restaurant also serves beer and wine.

With a 3.5-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp so far, JiangNan is finding its way, but it's still early days for the newcomer.

Chu Q., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 9, wrote, "I really love the food. I will definitely come back to this restaurant."

However, Yelper Karen L. added, "The food is really average, didn't really live up to the hype."

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. JiangNan is open from noon–midnight daily.
