Bubble tea fans, take heed: There's a new spot in town to get your fix. Located at 139 Fulton St. in the Financial District, the fresh addition is called U Tea.
After opening its first two locations on the campuses of Cornell and Syracuse universities, U Tea is expanding downstate. The new shop specializes in cheese tea — a drink of iced tea topped with a sweet and "cheesy" foam. U Tea offers its signature cheese tea in such flavors as matcha and mango, which can be customized with boba, cookie pieces and other add-ons. Other beverage options include fresh fruit teas and classic milk teas, as well as a series of drinks made with probiotic beverage Yakult.
U Tea has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 16 reviews on Yelp.
Eve C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Nov. 24, wrote, "I first got the Signature Mixed Fruit Fantasy. It was very refreshing, and it's filled with lots of fresh fruits like mango and pitaya. The second time I went I got the Whole-Cup Orange. It's also very refreshing and has a lot of Orange pulp which I like. I would really recommend this place for people who like fruit tea!"
Yuanyuan Y. wrote, "The best cheese foam I have had in the U.S. Loved it."
Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. U Tea is open from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m.–9 p.m. on weekends.
