Cranes, a restaurant and sake lounge, is open in Penn Quarter.

Tapas include Iberico ham with cocoa bread, sous vide egg with chorizo and sake-sherry vinagrette, and duck dumplings. A six-course omakase menu is also on offer.

Cranes' current Yelp rating of 4.5 stars out of 10 reviews indicates positive attention from users.

Yelper Nathaniel W., who reviewed the business on Feb. 16, wrote, "Tapas-style highlights included the grilled shrimp with black garlic purée, scallops with bacon chips, short rib bao buns, patatas bravas, nameko and enoki mushroom rice, and the yuzu curd tart with mandarin orange sorbet to finish."

Yelper Tash M. wrote, "Beet salad, cold capellini, and grilled onions were beautifully presented with a lot of thoughtful complexity that still tasted amazing. But if you're a mushroom lover, the nameko mushroom rice will make your eyes roll back in your head. Cocktails were crafted creatively and well balanced. "

Cranes is open from 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. daily for lunch. Dinner hours are from 5 –10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and from 5–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Silver Lyan is a cocktail bar and New American spot in Penn Quarter.

The bar was opened by "World's Best Bar" award winner Ryan Chetiyawardana. In addition to craft cocktails, champagne, wine and beer, Silver Lyan offers small plates, such as rarebit cauliflower, summer rolls in a variety of styles, and West Coast oysters.

With a 2.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp, Silver Lyan is still finding its way, but it's early days.

Yelper Raiana F., who reviewed the bar on Feb. 15, wrote, "While the cocktails were steep in price ($20), the taste and service have been exceptional. The mushroom bagel bites were outstanding, along with the fish punch."

And Austin G. wrote, "The cocktail menu is unique. If you like sweeter drinks, try the Lucy Lemonade. The citrus is layered and its notes are different. Their Manhattan is an elevated version of the classic, despite being 'zapped' in a microwave."

Silver Lyan is open from 5 p.m.–2 a.m. daily.

Yelper Melissa W., who reviewed the restaurant on Feb.16, wrote, "The uni pasta was so creamy, and even though it only comes with one piece of uni, the flavor is there. The noodles are very al dente, which I like."

Nicholas C. noted, "The rich-but-not-heavy pizzas are perfect, and the uni pasta is one of my favorite dishes of all time."

Tonari is open from 5–10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and from 5 p.m.-midnight on Friday and Saturday.
