Formerly located in Williamsburg's North 3rd Street Market, Whipped - Urban Dessert Lab has made the move across the East River and upgraded from a food hall kiosk to a full-fledged storefront. The Boston-based, woman-owned company, which got its start as a cupcake bakery, claims that its new NYC outpost is "the world's first oat-milk soft serve shoppe."
Whipped's soft serve is entirely plant-based and free of dairy, eggs, nuts, soy and gluten. The ice cream comes in two base flavors — sweet cream and chocolate (also available as a twist) — which can be decked out with toppings such as waffle cone pieces, salted pecans, rainbow sprinkles, chocolate sauce and more.
Whipped - Urban Dessert Lab has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.
