First up is Kirkman South's Holy Grain Coffee Shop, situated at 6735 Conroy Road, Suite 109. With 4.5 stars out of 122 reviews on Yelp, the spot to score coffee and tea, salads and sandwiches has proven to be a local favorite for those looking for an inexpensive option.

The site can tell you a thing or two more about Holy Grain Coffee Shop. Open since March 2016, this shop was inspired by a small shop Brazilian-born owner Lilian used to visit in her hometown.

Regarding signature items, "We craft our beverages using only manual machines to grind, brew and pour the perfect cup," it writes on Yelp in the section explaining specialties. "We want you to feel at home and enjoy great coffee, teas, wine, beer and delicious food in a friendly, inviting atmosphere."

2. Skyebird

Skyebird, located at 3201 Corrine Drive, E. End Market, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the budget-friendly live/raw food spot, which offers juices and smoothies and salads, 4.5 stars out of 120 reviews.

We turned there for an overview of the raw food spot.

"Skyebird's goal is to provide a healthy alternative to support a variety of nutrition and lifestyle based diets," it states on Yelp in the section explaining specialties. "We are a locally owned and operated juice bar and experimental kitchen that uses the best mix of local and organic produce to make fresh juices, smoothies, house-brewed Kombucha and a full raw food menu."

Yelper Desiree A. who reviewed Chicken Salad Chick on Jan. 10, noted, "I opted to try a scoop of Sassy Scotty (it has ranch, bacon and cheddar cheese - drool!).  I also tried a scoop of the homemade pimento cheese and a side of macaroni and cheese. Everything was extremely good, and I was delighted to find that everyone gets a free sugar cookie with their order."

4. Jason's Deli

Last but not least, there's a location of the popular chain Jason's Deli, a Colonial Town Center favorite with four stars out of 98 reviews. Stop by 2915 E. Colonial Drive to hit up the deli, which offers salads, sandwiches and more, next time you're in the mood for cheap eats.

Yelper Ralph E., who reviewed Jason's Deli on Sept. 17, wrote, "This is a traditional type deli with a slightly modern twist. It has a lot of options and you can build your own sandwich from meat, veggies, bread and temperature. Very tasty and better than many of the other deli type chain places."
