Loki, retriever and shepherd mix

Loki is a charming male retriever and shepherd mix currently housed at City of Fort Worth Animal Shelter.

Loki is well-behaved around most dogs, but he would prefer to be placed in a forever home without cats. Rest assured: He's already house-trained, neutered and vaccinated.

Meet Loki:

Hi, I'm Loki! I am just under two years old and weigh 80 pounds. I am a retriever, Lab and shepherd mix with quite a fun yet sweet personality. I am an adventurous guy who would make a great hiking buddy or outdoor exploring companion. I love being outside with my human pals, either just sitting around or walking. On hot days, I enjoy splashing around in the water for fun. I like hanging out inside, and laying near my people's feet when they're working. I also love car rides! I do great on the road, as long as I have some space to sit back and relax (and if the weather's nice, stick my head out the window!). I hope to find my forever family very soon, so I can start making memories with them!

Nova, Alaskan malamute and Siberian husky mix

Nova is a sweet female Alaskan malamute and Siberian husky mix being kept at Cowtown Loves Animal Shelter Pets.

Nova is looking for a dog-free and child-free home. Fear not: She's already house-trained, vaccinated and spayed.

Nova's current caretakers say:

Nova is a smart, obedient, loyal and calm companion who is very people-motivated. Don't let the stereotypical view of malamutes and huskies being escape artists turn you away from Nova, because she is the exact opposite. Nova has shown zero interest in leaving her comfy indoor doggy bed life. She knows her name well, and she also knows sit, down, stay and shake in English and Spanish.

Barea, terrier and pit bull terrier mix

Barea is a cheeky male terrier and pit bull terrier mix being cared for at City of Fort Worth Animal Shelter.

Barea loves to socialize — he gets along great with other dogs, and doesn't mind kids. No need for concern: Barea is already neutered, has had all his shots and is house-trained.

Notes from Barea's caretakers:

Barea lives for snuggles and sleeping in. He also loves to play, and hasn’t found a toy or treat he doesn’t like. Barea is constantly exploring and observing everything. Although he tends to counter surf and gets mouthy, he is the sweetest, biggest baby that doesn't know his own size. Barea prefers schedules and routines, such as being fed or bed times. Be warned, his farts are lethal and in large quantities, silent or otherwise!

Miss Daisy, hound mix

Miss Daisy is an adorable female hound mix staying at City of Fort Worth Animal Shelter.

Don't worry: Miss Daisy has already been vaccinated and spayed. She's already mastered her house-training etiquette, too.

A bit more on Miss Daisy:

Daisy is a three-year-old hound mix. She's a friendly ball of energy who may be a bit skiddish at first around new people, but warms up quickly. She enjoys having ample space to rub around, so a big backyard is highly recommended. She also has a tendency to dig, so I would highly recommend getting toys to keep her attention from wandering to the ground. She's definitely a long-term Velcro dog. She wants to be with you at all times, but is also crate-trained, so that wouldn't be an issue come bed time. Daisy would make a wonderful addition to the right home.

Roxie, mountain cur and terrier mix

Roxie is an affectionate female mountain cur and terrier mix staying at City of Fort Worth Animal Shelter.

Roxie is happy to keep company with other dogs or children. She's already spayed, vaccinated and house-trained.

A few words from Roxie's current caretakers:

Roxie should be renamed Lovebug. Roxie is ready for a home — not just because she would like to be in one, but because she has the manners to be successful. If someone is looking for a companion, this dog will stay close to your side. There is no sweeter animal. She is highly social, and loves all people. She’s super playful and sweet. She just wants to play, play, play! Despite this, aggression seems to be the exact opposite of this dog’s nature. Loud noises do not seem to affect her at all. This dog is wonderful and deserves the best life.
