A new pop-up restaurant called Be Awesome Feed Somebody has landed in the space of the currently shuttered Ani Ramen House at 218 Newark Ave.

Be Awesome Feed Somebody, a nonprofit pop-up that donates parts of its profits to support COVID-19 first responders, was born out of a partnership between the #BeAwesomeToSomeBody campaign and the Montclair Hospitality Group, owners of Ani Ramen, according to reporting by Hoboken Girl.

The temporary pop-up is made up of two mini restaurant concepts — Rock City Pizza Co., specializing in square Detroit-style pizza, and Bang Bang Chicken, which offers Thai comfort food. Customers have the option to donate a pizza or an order of chicken and rice to first responders ($6 and $8 respectively), and the pop-up also sells ramen kits, bottled cocktails and sake for delivery. Visit its website for more information on ordering.

Be Awesome Feed Somebody has already attracted fans thus far, with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.

Mike T., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 15, wrote, "So brilliant that Ani Ramen has pivoted into a #giveback venture for the JC community."

Yelper Dana O. noted, “As someone who lives and works in the community, I can't say how much this place rocks and everyone should support them!"

Be Awesome Feed Somebody is open for pickup and delivery from noon–9 p.m. daily.
