Surreal Creamery brings ice cream, bubble tea and more to Kips BayPhoto: Surreal Creamery/Yelp

Frozen dessert fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. Located at 538 Second Ave. in Kips Bay, the newcomer is called Surreal Creamery.

This is the second location of Surreal Creamery, which launched in 2018 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The new spot specializes in soft-serve ice cream in Asian-inspired flavors such as matcha, taro and Vietnamese iced coffee, all of which are available in a cup or shake ($8.50) with toppings like chocolate syrup, cookie pieces, breakfast cereal, whipped cream and more. There's also a Mason jar sundae made in a take-home Mason jar ($9.50).

Surreal Creamery offers bubble tea, too, serving up bubble tea lattes, fruit teas and slushies in classic flavors like taro, matcha and mango, and finished with add-ons like tapioca pearls and swirls of soft-serve ice cream.

Surreal Creamery has proved popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.

Mike C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 6, wrote, "Another great new Asian ice cream spot."

Yelper Andrew G. added, “Very well done, and really nice people. Definitely going back for the soft serve boba!"

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Surreal Creamery is open from noon–9 p.m. daily.
