These Las Vegas-based kitties are up for adoption and in need of a good homePhotos: Petfinder

Interested in adopting a pet — or just taking a peek at some charming cats? There are dozens of deserving cats up for adoption at animal shelters in and around Las Vegas.

Animal shelters and pet rescue groups work hard to care for unhoused pets and connect them to loving homes. Hoodline used data from Petfinder to power this roundup of cats currently available for adoption.

(Details like pet availability, training, vaccinations and other features are based on data provided by Petfinder and may be subject to change; contact the shelter for the latest information.)

Porter, domestic shorthair

Porter is a male domestic shorthair cat being cared for at Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions.

Porter is looking for a home without small children. He is already neutered, he has had all his shots, and he has mastered his house-training etiquette.

Notes on Porter:

When I first came to Homeward Bound, I was young, shy and scared. It took some time for me to come around, but once my helpers found out I was deaf, I was able to make great strides in coming out of my shell. I do well with other cats and would need another one to keep me company. While it may seem like I'm not much of a people-cat, I really am; I just need tons of time and patience to accommodate my hearing loss.

More about Olive B:

I'm pretty independent and bold. Sometimes I keep to myself and might seem aloof. I do enjoy some love and affection, and I can be very sweet — on my own time, of course. I like to climb and enjoy being up high, so a cat tree where I can perch and survey my domain would be the best.
