Bay Area firefighters tackled a stubborn two-alarm fire that engulfed a two-story residence in San Pablo. The fire reportedly started in the attic of the unoccupied home located on Madeline Rd, with fire crews confirming its unoccupied status, according to a Con Fire PIO tweet.
The fire posed unique difficulties for firefighters due to hoarding conditions within the home and a steep slope behind the property, as reported by KRON4. The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District detailed the complications firefighters faced in containing the blaze.

The fire broke out before 4 a.m. and continued to rage for nearly two hours before crews finally knocked it down at around 5:45 a.m. Despite knocking down the fire, crews had to remain at the scene for several hours to mop up and ensure the fire would not reignite.
Firefighters from multiple agencies, including Rodeo-Hercules, Richmond, and El Cerrito, joined forces with Con Fire to battle the challenging blaze. Captain George Liang from Con Fire highlighted the difficulties faced due to the steep slope at the back of the house, which made containing the fire more arduous.
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, and the fire did not spread to neighboring properties. The cause of the San Pablo fire currently remains under investigation.
