
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has apprehended three individuals believed to be responsible for multiple armed carjackings in various local neighborhoods, according to a Facebook post from OPD. The suspects, all Oakland residents, include two male adults and one male juvenile, and are facing charges related to multiple carjackings across the city.
Following an ongoing investigation, the individuals have been linked to carjackings in the Tompkins Avenue Neighborhood, Crestmont Neighborhood, Sequoyah Heights Neighborhood, Piedmont Avenue Southeast Neighborhood, and Skyline-Hillcrest Estates Neighborhood. These connections were made possible due to the excellent collaboration between the OPD’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), VCOC, Intelligence Unit, and Patrol Division.
Several search warrants have been executed in relation to the individuals involved in this case, with the investigation continuing to expand as authorities explore other carjacking cases that may be connected. This crime spree has plagued the Oakland community, creating tension and safety concerns among residents.
One of the carjackings occurred on July 21, 2023, just after 8:00 AM, in the area of Keller Avenue and Skyline Boulevard, while another robbery and carjacking took place on July 23, 2023, at 9:00 PM, in the 12100 block of Skyline Boulevard, as mentioned in the same post.
