These borings will take place at three locations on Alhambra Valley Road, lying between Castro Ranch Road and Bear Creek Road, and located at 1-mile, 1.3-miles, and 1.6-miles east of the Castro Ranch Road intersection. During the construction period, drivers should expect delays up to 30 minutes and are advised to consider alternate routes to manage their journeys more efficiently.
The upcoming Alhambra Valley Road Slope Failure Repairs Project aims to restore and stabilize the road embankment along the eastbound lane. It will involve the construction of soldier pile retaining walls, installation of guardrails along these walls, backfilling, and reconstruction of the damaged roadway and shoulder. Additionally, an 18-inch culvert will be installed at one of the locations, spanning about 100-feet in length.
As Contra Costa County Public Works progresses with the repairs, residents are encouraged to monitor the situation and plan their commutes accordingly. Information and updates about the project can be found on the county website and other news channels as they become available. In the meantime, drivers should prepare themselves for the upcoming delay and explore alternate travel routes when necessary.
