Early yesterday, authorities were called to investigate a domestic disturbance on the 3300 block of Mojave Avenue in Santa Rosa. The situation involved Salvador Contreras, a 21-year-old male from Rohnert Park, who allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend with a firearm.
As stated in their report, Contreras left the scene of the altercation in a black single cab truck. While responding to the call, a Santa Rosa Police Officer quickly observed a similar vehicle and made contact with the driver, who turned out to be Salvador Contreras. Once approached, Contreras began to actively avoid complying to the Officer's commands, exiting the vehicle and walking away from the scene. Two additional officers were able to detain Contreras successfully while he was distracted by the initial officer's efforts, per a Facebook post by the Santa Rosa Police.
After further investigation, a loaded 9-millimeter Glock pistol was found behind the passenger seat of Contreras' vehicle. The firearm, containing seven rounds, was reported as stolen from Vallejo. Salvador Contreras was later arrested and booked on multiple charges, ranging from carrying a loaded firearm without being its registered owner, to resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
