An armed robbery suspect was apprehended, with the firearm involved in the incident recovered, as posted on the Concord Police Department's FB page. A combination of witness statements, video surveillance, and additional investigative leads helped authorities track down the suspect responsible for robbing a US Postal Service mail carrier at gunpoint.
On Thursday, the Concord Police Department, with the aid of the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff, initiated a high-risk felony stop on Blackfield Drive in Concord. Several suspects were taken into custody for various crimes, according to the Concord Police Department report.
Following further investigation, detectives identified a related suspect house in the City of Vallejo. In the early hours of the morning, the Crisis Negotiations Team and SWAT Team served a search warrant on the property, successfully recovering evidence related to the armed robbery. Although the investigation is ongoing and limited details have been released, the recovery of the evidence is a crucial step towards holding the perpetrator accountable.
