UPDATE (8/22/2023 at 11:26pm Pacific Time):
Oakland Police Department (OPD) provided Hoodline with additional details about the now-closed missing person case relating to Lisa Hu. Hu's mother originally filed a missing person's case 8 years ago when their relationship became estranged. Lisa and her mother, who were not in touch at all for those years, reportedly made contact recently. It was during this time that Lisa became aware of the missing person's case her mother had opened for her. They subsequently got in touch with OPD to have the case closed. OPD tried to follow up with Lisa and her mother, however, they were unable to reach either of them at that time.

In a heartwarming turn of events, the search for Lisa Hu, who had been missing since December 2015, has come to a successful close. The Oakland Police Department (OPD) announced earlier today that Lisa has been safely located, bringing an end to a community-wide exhaustive search for the young woman. Lisa's family, who insisted she was in good physical and mental condition, expressed immense relief at her return.
Born in December 1991, Lisa Hu was last seen on December 8, 2015, in the vicinity of the 900 block of 34th Street in Oakland. Described as an Asian female, 5'4" tall with brown eyes and brown hair, Lisa's disappearance prompted years of unyielding search by the local authorities. Until her location, details surrounding her disappearance remained scarce, with the specifics of her clothing description during the time of her disappearance remaining unknown.
Every bit of information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, could be the key to bringing closure and reunion in these cases. If you have any information regarding missing persons, do not hesitate to notify the relevant authorities, such as OPD's Missing Persons Unit in Oakland.
