A hiker from San Diego, 46-year-old Kyle Chance, faced a tragic end while exploring the scenic trails of Tucson in Arizona, likely succumbing to extreme weather conditions as reported by Fox5 San Diego. Chance's body was discovered near the Starr Pass area at approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday, as a result of the joint efforts of local authorities and rescue teams.
Fox5 notes that the National Weather Service pegged temperatures in Tucson at a scorching 93 degrees Fahrenheit on the day Chance set out for his hike. Undeterred by the sweltering heat, he embarked on his journey at around 9:30 a.m., only to be reported missing later in the day. While authorities found no indication of foul play, Pima County Sheriff's Deputy Gordon Downing revealed in a statement that the initial cause of death was exposure to the weather conditions according to Tucson's KGUN 9.
The search for Chance involved a variety of rescue teams and local law enforcement agencies, including the sheriff department's search and rescue crew, Tucson police, Drexel Heights fire personnel, and an Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter according to Fox5 San Diego.
